አራት ኢትዮጵያውያን አትሌቶች ለብራሰልስ ዳይመንድ ሊግ የሴቶች 5000 ሜትር ፍፃሜ ማለፋቸውን አረጋግጠዋል።
የ2026 ዓ.ም. ዋንዳ ዳይመንድ ሊግ ሊጠናቀቅ የብራልሱን የፍፃሜ ውድድር ሳይጨምር ሶስት ውድድሮች ብቻ ቀርተዋል፡፡ እስካሁን በተከናወኑት 11 ውድድሮች ላይ በ3000/5000 ሜ. በተደረጉ ውድድሮች በተመዘገቡ ነጥቦች ለሴቶች 5000 ሜ. ፍፃሜ ለማለፍ እየተደረገ ባለው ፉክክር ኢትዮጵያውያን አትሌቶች የበላይነቱን ይዘዋል፡፡ አስር አትሌቶች ለፍፃሜው በሚያልፉበት የዳይመንድ ሊግ የሴቶች 5000 ሜትር የነጥብ ፉክክር የእስካሁን ደረጃ ኢትዮጵያዊት አትሌቶች ከአንደኛ እስከ ስምንተኛ ያሉትን ይዘው የሚገኙ ሲሆን ከስምንቱ አራቱ (አለሺኝ ባወቀ፣ ልቅና አምባው፣ ፍሬወይኒ ሀይሉ፣ እና ሰናይት ጌታቸው) ከወዲሁ ለፍፃሜው ማለፋቸውን አረጋግጣዋል፡፡
በነጥብ ደረጃው ላይ ስሟ በቀዳሚነት የሰፈረው አለሺኝ ባወቀ በሮም ዳይመንድ ሊግ የ5000 ሜትር ሁለተኛ በመውጣት (7 ነጥብ)፣ በሞናኮ ዳይመንድ ሊግ የ3000 ሜትር ሁለተኛ በመውጣት (7 ነጥብ)፣ እንዲሁም በኦሪገን ዩጂን እንደ 3000ሜ. በሚያዘው የሁለት ማይል ውድድር አንደኛ በመውጣት (8 ነጥብ) በድምሩ 22 ነጥብ አስመዝግባ ነው የፍፃሜው ተወዳዳሪነቷን ያረጋገጠችው፡፡
በሁለተኛ ደረጃው ላይ ስሟ የሰፈረው ልቅና አምባው በሮም ዳይመንድ ሊግ 5000 ሜትር አንደኛ በመውጣት (8 ነጥብ)፣ በኦስሎ ዳይመንድ ሊግ 3000 ሜትር ሁለተኛ በመውጣት (7 ነጥብ)፣ እንዲሁም በዶሀ ዳይመንድ ሊግ 5000 ሜትር ሁለተኛ በመውጣት (7 ነጥብ) በድምሩ ከአለሺኝ እኩል 22 ነጥብ በመያዝ ነው ለፍፃሜው መብቃቷን ያረጋገጠችው፡፡
ፍሬወይኒ ሀይሉ በሮም 5000 ሜትር 3ኛ፣ በኦስሎ 3000 ሜትር 1ኛ፣ እና በሞናኮ 3000 ሜትር 5ኛ ሆና ባጠናቀቀችባቸው ውድድሮች ባስመዘገበቻችው 18 ነጥቦች፤ እንዲሁም ሰናይት ጌታቸው በሮም 5000 ሜትር 4ኛ፣ በኦስሎ እና በሞናኮ 3000 ሜትር በተመሳሳይ 3ኛ ሆና ባጠናቀቀችባቸው ውድድሮች ባስመዘገበቻችው 17 ነጥቦች ተከታዮቹን ደረጃዎች ይዘው ለፍፃሜ ማለፋቸውን ያረጋገጡ ሌሎች ኢትዮጵያውያን ናቸው፡፡
ኢትዮጵያውያኑ መመዲና ኢሳ፣ ማርታ አለማየሁ፣ ሒሩ መሸሻ፣ እና ሀዊ አበራም ለፍፃሜ ተፋላሚነት በሚበቁት ከአምስተኛ እስከ ስምንተኛ ባሉት ደረጃዎች ላይ ተቀምጠው የሚገኙ አትሌቶች ናቸው፡፡ ነጥብ የሚመዘገብበት ቀሪ የዳይመንድ ሊግ የሴቶች 5000 ሜትር ውድድር የፊታችን ኦገስት 23-2026 በፖላንድ ሲሌሲያ ዳይመንድ ሊግ ላይ የሚከናወን ሲሆን ከዛ ውድድር በኋላ የፍፃሜ ተወዳዳሪዎቹ በሙሉ የሚታወቁ ይሆናል።

Four Ethiopians Secure Brussels Diamond League 5,000m Final Spots
Only three meets remain in the 2026 Wanda Diamond League season, excluding the final. Ethiopian athletes have dominated the standings in the 3000m/5000m events held so far, positioning themselves strongly in the race to qualify for the women’s 5000m final. In the Diamond League women’s 5000m points competition, which qualifies ten athletes for the final, Ethiopian athletes currently hold the top eight spots; four of them (Aleshign Baweke, Likina Amebaw, Freweyni Hailu, and Senait Getachew) have already secured their places in the final.
Aleshign Baweke, who tops the standings, secured her place in the final by amassing a total of 22 points: 7 points for finishing second in the 5,000m at the Rome Diamond League, 7 points for placing second in the 3,000m at the Monaco Diamond League, and 8 points for winning the two-mile race (an event comparable to the 3,000m) in Eugene, Oregon.
Likina Amebaw secured her spot in the final by accumulating a total of 22 points, tying with Aleshign, through a first-place finish in the Rome Diamond League 5000m (8 points), a second-place finish in the Oslo Diamond League 3000m (7 points), and a second-place finish in the Doha Diamond League 5000m (7 points).
Other Ethiopians who qualified for the final include Freweyni Hailu, who secured her place with 18 points (finishing 3rd in the Rome 5000m, 1st in the Oslo 3000m, and 5th in the Monaco 3000m), and Senayet Getachew, who qualified with 17 points (finishing 4th in the Rome 5000m and 3rd in both the Oslo and Monaco 3000m races).
Ethiopian athletes Medina Eisa, Marta Alemayo, Hirut Meshesha, and Hawi Abera are currently ranked between fifth and eighth place, qualifying them for the final. The remaining Diamond League women’s 5,000m race, where points will be awarded, is scheduled to take place at the Silesia Diamond League in Poland on August 23–26; the full lineup of finalists will be determined following that event.
