አዲሱ ይሁኔ እና ቢኒያም መሀሪ በወንዶች 5000 ሜትር የዳይመንድ ሊግ ፍፃሜ ላይ አይናቸውን ጥለዋል።
በ2026 ዓ.ም. ዋንዳ ዳይመንድ ሊግ የወንዶች 5000 ሜትር ለብራስልሱ ፍፃሜ ለመብቃት እየተደረገ ባለው የነጥብ ፉክክር ኢትዮጵያውያኑ አዲሱ ይሁኔ እና ቢኒያም መሀሪ ለማለፍ በሚያስችላቸው ደረጃ ላይ ይገኛሉ፡፡ ትውልደ ኢትዮጵያዊው የባሕሬይን አትሌት ብርሀኑ ባለው (19 ነጥብ) እና ስዊድናዊው አንድሬያስ አልምግረን (18 ነጥብ) አንደኛ እና ሁለተኛ ደረጃ ላይ ተቀምጠዋል፡፡ ኢትዮጵያዊው አዲሱ ይሁኔ በአሸናፊነት ባጠናቀቀባቸው ሁለት ውድድሮች በሻንግሀይ (ቻይና) 8 እና በኦስሎ (ኖርዌይ) 8 ነጥብ በድምሩ 16 ነጥብ በማስመዝገብ በሶስተኛ ደረጃ ላይ ይገኛል፡፡
ሌላኛው ኢትዮጵያዊ ቢኒያም መሀሪ በበኩሉ በዢያመን (ቻይና) 6 ነጥብ እና በሞናኮ (ሞናኮ) 3 ነጥብ በአጠቃላይ 9 ነጥብ ይዞ ዘጠነኛ ደረጃ ላይ ይገኛል።
በአጠቃላይ 10 አትሌቶች ለብራስልሱ የፍፃሜ ውድድር በሚያልፉበት የወንዶች 5000 ሜትር የነጥብ ፉክክር እሰካሁን ማለፉን ያረጋገጠ አትሌት የለም፡፡ አብዛኞቹ በነጥብ ፉክክሩ ውስጥ ያሉ አትሌቶች በቀሪዎቹ ሁለት ውድድሮች ላይ በሚኖራቸው ተሳትፎ እና በሚያስመዘግቧቸው ውጤቶች መሰረት ለብራልሱ የፍፃሜ ተፋላሚነት የመብቃት ዕድላቸው አሁንም ክፍት ነው፡፡ የነጥብ ፉክክሩ ሁለት ቀሪ ውድድሮች ኦገስት 21 በሎዛን በ5000 ሜትር እንዲሁም ኦገስት 27 በዙሪክ በ3000 ሜትር የሚከናወኑ ይሆናል፡፡ ከሎዛኑ የ5000 ሜትር ውድድር በኋላ የተወሰኑ አትሌቶች አንድ ውድድር እየቀራቸው ለፍፃሜው ማለፋቸውን የሚያረጋግጡበት ዕድልም ሰፊ ነው፡፡

Addisu Yihune and Biniam Mehary target Diamond League men’s 5,000m final
In the 2026 Wanda Diamond League, Ethiopians Adisu Yihune and Biniam Mehary are currently in qualifying positions for the men’s 5,000m final in Brussels. Bahraini athlete of Ethiopian origin Birhanu Balew (19 points) and Sweden’s Andreas Almgren (18 points) hold the first and second spots, respectively. Ethiopian athlete Adisu Yihune sits in third place with a total of 16 points, earned by winning two races, securing 8 points in Shanghai (China) and another 8 in Oslo (Norway).
Another Ethiopian, Biniam Mehari, sits in ninth place with a total of 9 points, 6 points from Xiamen (China) and 3 points from Monaco (Monaco).
In the men’s 5,000m qualifying series, from which 10 athletes will advance to the Brussels final, no athlete has yet secured their spot. Most competitors still have a chance to qualify for the Brussels final based on their participation and results in the remaining two races. These final two events are scheduled for August 21 in Lausanne (5,000m) and August 27 in Zurich (3,000m). Following the Lausanne 5,000m race, there is a strong possibility that some athletes will clinch their spots in the final, even with one race remaining.
